The UH Libraries are open to the general public during normal hours of operation
- Those wishing to borrow materials are advised to bring with them a TexShare or HARLIC card, issued by a participating library or to purchase an Associates card at the M.D. Anderson Library service desk.
- Public computers are limited in number. Printing is available at $ .10/page (plus tax) through purchase of a copy card. There are no coin-operated copiers or printers so it is advisable to bring single $1.00 bills.
- Classes or group tours are asked to contact the library in advance at 713-743-9765.
Visiting Special Collections
Special Collections exists to preserve its collections and to make them available now and for generations to come. Materials do not circulate but are used in our supervised Reading Room.
- Call (713) 743-9750 or e-mail speccol@lib.uh.edu in advance, if possible, when planning to use manuscript or archival collections.
- Present current, valid photo identification: driver's license, or University of Houston Cougar 1Card.
- Store all personal belongings in lockers provided on-site. Laptop computers are welcome in our Reading Room; personal scanners are not allowed.
- Fill out Patron Registration Form, if using manuscript or archival collections.
- Other specifics regarding collections use will be covered at time of visit.
- For researchers from outside of Houston, the Hilton University of Houston is within easy, 5-minute walking distance of the University of Houston's M.D. Anderson Library.
