Document Delivery / Faculty Photocopy

What is it?

The Faculty Photocopy service is a document delivery service offered to Faculty members. Faculty can request to have articles and book chapters owned by the UH Libraries scanned and delivered to them electronically or by campus mail.

Who Can Use the Service?

Any person teaching a class for the University of Houston.

The service is automatic for Faculty members. If you are a Teaching Assistant who would like to use the service, please obtain a letter from your department indicating that you are currently teaching a class, and giving the dates of your appointment. This letter can be faxed to the ILL unit at 713-743-9725, or emailed to ill@lib.uh.edu .

What Can Be Requested?

Articles and book chapters owned by the UH Libraries that are not available in an electronic format.

How Do I Request Articles?

Log in to ILLiad. From the ILLiad Main Menu, click the Faculty Photocopy link on the left-hand menu. Fill out the request form and click on Submit Request.

(If you do not have an ILLiad login, complete the registration form to create an account.)

What Does It Cost?

There is no charge for the service.

How Will I Receive the Articles?

This depends on how you have your preferences set in ILLiad:

If you have selected Web Delivery in ILLiad, then your articles will be delivered as PDFs.* Log into ILLiad and select Web Delivery from the "View" menu on the left.

If you do not have Web Delivery turned on, articles will be mailed to your campus address.

*Please note that some articles cannot be distributed electronically due to copyright or licensing issues. Copies of these articles will be mailed to your campus address, regardless of your preference settings.
